"I am living my childhood with my kids, although it's true that responsibilities have increased. I am enjoying each and every moment with them, " Hiten told.
Hiten, 36, married his "Kutumb" co-star Gauri Pradhan in 2004 and the couple became proud parents of twins Nevaan and Katya in November 2009. He is all praise for his wife for efficiently taking care of the twins.
"Since I used to be busy with my work, it was just Gauri who would look after the both the children and she has been a marvellous mother, " he said.
Hiten made his television debut with "Ghar Ek Mandir". He was later seen in "Kabhie Sautan Kabhie Saheli" and "Kahiin Kisi Roz". However, it was his role as Pratham in "Kutumb" that made him a household name, which was followed by his role as Karan in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi".
Last seen in Zee TV's "Chhoti Bahu", the actor has once again returned to the small screen with Star One's show "Rang Badalti Odhani".
So what kept him busy until "Rang Badalti..."?
"I have started my own restaurant, so I was busy in that. Now since everything has settled, I felt this was the right time to make a comeback, " he said.
Otherwise seen all decked up on screen, Hiten sports a rustic look for this show.
"I have always done roles which required me to stay suited-booted and formal. There's always an urge to do something different as an actor and this was something different for me as I have never played a villager before, " he said.
Hiten also feels that audience tastes have changed.
"The tastes of people have changed as they prefer to watch light-hearted shows today which has indeed taken away the charm from drama shows. But preferences keep on changing. Its a circle and everything comes back to where all it started from, " he added.
